I count myself very fortunate to have found the folks at Your Body Needs, all of the staff are knowledgeable, skilled, and attentive to the client's needs. It was very apparent from my first meeting that the focus was on my experience there at Your Body Needs and what they could provide to make my time there the most valuable and productive. I have had both deep tissue massages and Swedish massages here and the process of determining which was most helpful for a specific visit is an indication of the attention to personal detail that I have found in all aspects of my time here. As I was asked about my expectations for a specific visit, Rose also asked probing questions that helped us decide which type of massage best suited my needs at that time. It was a cooperative effort that was guided by Rose's experience and tailored for me. As to my experiences with the massages themselves, well, I work as an IT consultant and spend the majority of my time with computers, often in non-ergonomic environments. This frequently results in very tense back and shoulder muscles that get to the point where I am in constant but minor pain. Every time that I have received a massage therapy session at Your Body Needs, all of that tension has been completely removed and not only are my muscles completely relaxed, but my mind is invigorated. This is quite a euphoric state for me and I feel years younger, ready to face the world anew. I had expected to find some muscle tension relief when I first came to Your Body Needs, but I found much more than that. If you are looking to keep your body in tune and humming right along, this is the place to be!
The facility is very tranquil and soothing, a commentary in its own right on the effects of the aromatherapy offered there! Your Body Needs offers quality massage therapy in a very professional environment. I have been a client of Rose’s for about 3 years now. I go for therapeutic reasons, due to neck pain, but I find my sessions to be relaxing, in addition to being therapeutic. Rose always takes the time to ask if there are any other areas I would like her to work on before we begin every session. I mentioned a problem I was having with my foot once, and she was able to pinpoint the exact spot generating the problem and work on it successfully. Last year I had hip surgery, and Rose’s capabilities were able to help immensely with minimizing scar tissue build-up as I was recovering. This year I am pregnant, and she is extremely knowledgeable as to the appropriate methods for treating women who are expecting. She is working with me to effectively manage the lower back pain and carpal tunnel associated with the pregnancy. Plus, I am using the wonderful oil she makes specifically for minimizing stretch marks! Rose is naturally gifted and gives her full attention to you and your needs. She gives 110% every time. She is very focused, intuitive, and attentive. She also provides informative feedback as well, which I find helps me in between sessions.
As an active duty Marine for almost 23 years and as a part-time competitive martial arts athlete, my intense training continuously puts my body through extreme physical stresses. In late spring 2006, I had a serious injury to my arm and elbow while in training. I looked at several massage therapists and decided to go with Rose Chard. In one session, I healed dramatically from this injury. It was hard to believe that this particular “serious injury”, was fixable in a short period of time. The therapeutic and medical benefits brought on by Rose were amazing and I felt the difference immediately.
The severe pain in my elbow and arm dropped to almost nothing. More importantly, I felt that I could function and actually compete for an upcoming competition. I felt better circulation, increased flexibility (very important in my line of competition), more relaxed, and I walked out of the massage feeling healed and rejuvenated. I went on to compete and win first place in the Men’s Novice No-Gi Middle Weight Division of the Grapplers Quest 2006 National Championships. If it hadn’t been for Rose, I would have ended up not even competing. Since then, I see Rose often before and sometimes after these competitions. Her help has become an integral part of my health, physical training maintenance, and competitive-edge regimen. I owe Rose a lot of credit. Thanks Rose!

As a survivor of polio, I was desperately searching for an effective, holistic treatment that would give me relief from muscle and nerve pain and weakness associated with post-polio syndrome. I began receiving aroma-therapeutic massage treatments from Your Body Needs… over a year and half ago. This has resulted in reduced pain in my muscle and joints as well as greater flexibility and better functioning throughout all parts of my body. Regular aromatherapy massages have definitely improved my overall quality of life.

As a personal trainer I know at times, personal training and massage therapy may be viewed as a luxury. This is false. I suffered a neck injury in an accident and for six months after, the muscles in the right side of my neck would tighten up like a golf ball. Rose was kind enough to give me a quick 5-minute neck massage which relieved the pain and tension and gave me relief for the next four months. I can’t begin to explain how amazing it was to go through the day without being in pain. While I needed another two sessions in order to feel complete long-term relief, I feel the money was well worth it for my well being. I’ve since suffered a calf injury and a short bout of TMJ (from stress). Both issues were greatly relieved with Rose’s help and just like my neck, the pain is now gone. If any of my clients come to me with soft tissue or stress problems, Rose is the first person who comes to mind to help them.

After having two spinal surgeries, and years of pain, the therapy provided by Rose has done more to eliminate pain than all the other things I've tried combined. This is truly what your body needs! - Mike Allison I am a 59-year-old retired federal government employee. As an employee, my job was very sedentary and I paid little attention to my body needs. After retirement, I decided that I needed a little something extra to help with my Osteoarthritis. So I tried massage therapy. Little did I know that in addition to less aches & pains that there could be other physical benefits associated with Massage Therapy. After initial consultation and pre-screening, I realized that some of those areas that could be addressed for me personally were: sinus allergies and stress. Your Body Needs…introduced me to Aromatherapy. I have used various essential oils such as: eucalyptus, pepper, ginger & peppermint to help alleviate some of the symptoms. I rely on Rose’s judgment and expertise to lead me. I also use an essential oil mixture at home to deal with my chronic sinus problems. Rose is always 100% attentive and focused on your individual needs. I’ve been a client of Rose for several months now and have never been disappointed with the results.

Testimonials on Aromatherapy Workshops
We thoroughly enjoyed Ms. Rose Chard's Aromatherapy Workshop. We found the workshop tremendously insightful about how Aromatherapy can have such a positive effect on our well-being, plus act against a wide variety of ailments. Rose is a very knowledgeable instructor, and had well-written and well-researched handouts. She clarified the differences between fragrances and Aromatherapy and the latter's therapeutic value, and the variety of ways in which it can be used. We learned a great deal from this one workshop, and look forward to attending many others.

I recently attended an aromatherapy workshop at the “Your Body Needs...” suite in Crofton, MD. Rose Chard (who has such a passion for aromatherapy) eagerly provided a very thorough discussion on what true aromatherapy is… and described in detail the qualities of several essential oils. We were allowed to test the essential oils and we were taught about how the oils could be blended and what might work best for our own individual, personal needs and how we can use them. The workshop was held in a cozy, comfortable, and informal setting which allowed for plenty of open discussion and lots of questions and answers. I look forward to additional workshops, I’ve just scratched the surface.
