Can I use Aromatherapy as a replacement for traditional means of health care? Aromatherapy can be defined as a complementary modality. It is meant to complement existing forms of health care you receive rather than replace them. Essential oils are excellent tools to practice preventive medicine. However, an aromatherapist should not recommend exclusive usage of aromatherapy over or against traditional medicine.
