Our skin deserves the best possible treatment and aromatherapy is the pathway. Taking care of your skin for optimal skin health is actually incredibly easy when we decide to keep it simple and not buy into all the items we are told we need to be youthful. Our earth has provided everything you need to stay beautiful. It doesn’t take long to see the benefits that essential oils have to protect our skin. An added benefit is that now we introduce what are known as carrier oils. Carrier or base oils are pure vegetable oils which contain their own benefits such as vitamins and minerals. Carrier oils are our base for health and beauty treatments or other treatments that require covering a large surface area on the body.
Please note: While pure carrier oils are usually the best choice for blending, essential oils are also blended with many other carriers or bases such as unscented lotions, gel, and emulsions.
For adults, a good dilution rate for carrier oil recipes is about 10-15 drops per 1oz. of carrier oil. For children and frail people, reduce drops to half per 1oz. of carrier oil.

Rosehip oil is extremely beneficial in tissue regeneration from conditions such as burns, facial wrinkles, and scar treatment. Rosehip oil can be used to help heal scars by reducing redness and the formation of keloid scar tissue.

Essential oils can help enhance the look of your hair. Herbal preparations have been used for hundreds of years to improve the health of hair and to add luster and shine. One of the pathways that essential oils enter the body is via hair follicles, so hair treatments and rinses are wonderful ways to use essential oils.

Household Cleanliness and Ambiance
The first thing people recognize when they visit is the aroma your home evokes. Smell is a powerful sense and it is connected to our emotions. Smells in our home tell a lot about us such as the food we cook or if there is a smoker or a pet in the home. Essential oils allow you to choose the aromas you wish to create for home ambiance without worrying about the dangers synthetic fragrances add to the air quality of your home. However, essential oils offer more than just fragrances. Essential oils are very useful for your household cleaning and purifying purposes.

To prepare your massage oil, pour 1oz. of your chosen carrier oil in a small glass bottle. (See Your Health and Beauty for choices. However, for massage purposes, grapeseed should be sufficient.) Add 8-12 drops of the essential oil, or a blend of up to three oils, of your choice. You should have some leftover massage oil that you can store.
